Writing Ebooks and Articles - Deciding to become a writer can change lives
Making the decision to become a writer has changed my life tremendously, and can do the same for you. I had always wanted to write and began writing poems and short stories, while I was still in elementary school. As I got older I began to write longer stories and by the time I was in college I wanted to write for television and cinema.
My education in school was so stiff that I had to take lessons to get my creativity back. I took a creative writing class in high school, but even then the rules were very strict on how many words each story might be and what topics were acceptable. I started taking the classes were, through the extension department of the college or private schools of writing. I could let my imagination run, which allows me to write romantic comedy, situation comedy and other genres that I found of interest.
The problem was that I wanted to sell a part of this writing and have a career as a writer. I lived in Los Angeles and in contact with some people who could secure my word was read. After being rejected regularly for several years, I stopped writing. Why was not willing to persevere and seek other opportunities, I closed the door on a career as a writer. One agent suggested I try writing non-fiction, but I remember him saying he did not know enough about everything to be able to write about it.
It 's been twenty years before I started writing again. At that time I became a teacher, and I have taught hundreds of students how to write compositions that were persuasive, narrative or exposition. I also became a real estate agent and appraiser, and wrote many detailed reports on residential property. But none of this work has been done to me or to help others learn to write. It was not until I found a mentor that I started writing again and now I write every day .......
