Tips for launching the Online Bookstore
I always wanted to have a library / knitting shop, and have an online is easier than a brick and mortar store. However, there are advantages and disadvantages of each, and I'd like to share them with the hope that my story can help anyone interested in opening an online library in their niche, studied carefully.
Find your niche, studied carefully, it is important for several reasons. With the likes of Amazon and Barnes and Noble to compete, you must carve out a very special little piece of the pie online library and serve with whipped cream. By this I mean, you must create a library that offers highly concentrated smaller something bigger websites do not have - a warm, personal touch.
The pros of owning an online Bookstore
I chose affiliate programs as the basis of my library, because I have to do with the receipt of payments, accepting credit cards, process orders, inventory storage, the increase in orders, shipments, and so on.
Going to work in a brick and mortar store would be to call together the whole package - clothes, hair, makeup - with my online store, I can do what I want when I want, I want to look like. to go to work, my store is open 24/7/365 to customers around the world, I never meet cranky people face to face (sometimes only in the e-mail!) and my shop is always quiet and private (no children cranky!).
Faced with a decision between two ideas on how to run my store, I chose option # 1. Can I just fill my site with a quality, relevant content pages and encourage visitors to click through to the merchant's website for purchase, or I can use a data feed to create a carbon copy of the original store on my site . I have yet to write original copy, making it unique and not be penalized as duplicate content, but I have a huge site immediately, automatically updated. Visitors then there is no need to leave my website to make their purchases.
The cons of owning an online Bookstore
Of course there are always arguments against online shopping, the cons are that the libraries offer a wonderful customer experience. Maybe you like to go out and signed books, listening to authors read passages, and sitting on a comfortable chair with a stack of books to decide first-hand what you want to buy. And of course, shopping online sites malfunction more often than not forced to close unexpectedly.
As an affiliate marketer there are some things that can make online shoppers annoyed, reluctant and skeptical that you will not have to do with the person, but you must be convincing enough to overcome their hesitation.
If the customer knows exactly what they want, no problem, but if you want to "showcase" the process can be painfully slow as they move from page to page. If they like "scanning pop and leave something for them," they may become frustrated at only being able to see what fits on one page at a time.
When it's time to pull out the plastic, which may question the safety of ordering online with your card, ask if they want to pay high transport costs, and what happens if they need to return an order?
As I made my decision
Most of the disadvantages can be avoided or compensated for careful choice of affiliate programs. Few companies offer simply book on-line books. They also offer reviews, contests, coupons and ways to participate in what feels like a community.
Website designed with care to make the navigation clear and simple can make navigation easier and comparison shopping, and, of course, with great track record shops, witnesses and security in place to make a difference to consumer confidence.
For me, the love for my niche in combination with a love of books has convinced me that I had made a great choice, and success is almost assured as my next love, writing, making it easy to write reviews books. If this makes sense for you, then you might want to try an online bookstore .......
