Ladder Safety Tips


POSITIONING

oLadders must be positioned so that each side rail is level and solid base so that the ladder is rigid, stable and secure.

oBoxes, loose bricks or other loose packing should not support the side rails.

ono ladder must be placed in front of a door opening toward the ladder.

Othe correct angle for a scale independent of 4 to 1. For every 4 lengths of the ladder should be 1 length away from the house.

oLadders expected to rise to a height of at least 3 feet above any landing place for people who use the stairs.

oLadders must be fixed firmly to the top and the base so that it can not be moved from one of the points of rest. If this is not possible, then a person should stay at the base of the ladder and fix it manually.

USE

oCarry tools and supplies in bags or belts around the waist, not in your hands.

oDon't use the top rung of the ladder to stand or walk.

oif you afraid of heights - STOP - do not climb a ladder for someone else to do.

Oread and follow the manufacturer's Danger stickers attached to the ladder. It 'amazing how few people read this information.

oOnly a person can work from a single scale.

oAlways face the ladder when ascending or descending.

oDon't use a ladder, if there is, or has a weakened, broken or otherwise defective rung or tread.

ono metal ladder or wire reinforced ladder should be used near any electrical conductor or any electrical appliances.

oAlways maintain 3 points of contact with the ladder (2 feet / 1 hand or 2 hands / 1 foot should be in contact with ladder at all times).

Ladder OA should not be used for any use other than correct use as a ladder. For example: scaffolding.

TRANSPORT

oCarry the ladder balanced horizontally, never up and down.

oWatch the step during transport the ladder in order to avoid a risk of tripping .......
