Example of a "code of conduct" for the Family Business Company
I Will Always:
1. Deal with family members with integrity, honesty and respect and not criticize the decision of another family member in public.
2. To the best of my attempt to demonstrate the ability of courtesy, respect and friendship relations with other family members to show employees that the family is united.
3. Being a professional listener, allowing them to express their opinions without interruption or challenge.
4. Making decisions based on the principles outlined in our doctrine family of entrepreneurs.
5. Invest in a minimum of one consecutive week per year in personnel management and leadership development offered outside the organization.
6. Be prepared to discuss issues openly and honestly.
7. Support the decisions of the President and other leaders in public
8. Solve a problem with a family member directly with that person.
9. Follow through on all of my commitments to other family members unless you notify them in advance
10. Be open to constructive feedback from family members of positive dialogue with follow-up without having to power and promote feelings of resentment.
11. Function in my role within the realm of my responsibility and not to usurp the authority or evade the authorities.
12. Observe the position of other family members who carry out their tasks, as indicated by personal responsibility, work and support their decisions, even if I disagree.
13. Being committed to act in accordance with and support this code of conduct.
I will never do:
1. Openly defying a family member in front of other employees in their decision. I can disagree and discuss issues without being disagreeable and confrontational.
2. Get so angry that I tune out or walk away from a discussion with the family unless they call a time out to allow you to regulate emotions.
3. Ignoring a decision taken by another member of the family in performing their roles with authority defined by their role.
4. Go behind the back of another family member with the intention to solicit support from employees to challenge the authority of the family member.
5. Talk about the competence or attitude of another family member with all employees in our company. Compared family will always be the top priority.
6. Intentionally withholding information that is relevant to the business by another family member.
